{"id":19,"date":"2012-12-13T14:07:19","date_gmt":"2012-12-13T19:07:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.profitrecoverysystems.com\/newsite\/?p=19"},"modified":"2013-02-26T15:31:56","modified_gmt":"2013-02-26T20:31:56","slug":"how-is-your-tem-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.profitrecoverysystems.com\/newsite\/how-is-your-tem-health\/","title":{"rendered":"How is your TEM Health?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><span style=\"color: #f79646;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.profitrecoverysystems.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/copy-prs_logo104_118.png\" \/>TEM Insider<\/span><\/h1>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">How Is Your TEM Health?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #404040;\"> Written by Mike Hobday, Asentinel<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #404040;\">\u00a0 December 13, 2012<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We all know that we need to see our doctor on a periodic basis in order to maintain a good physical health.\u00a0 When we visit our doctor, he checks our temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and other vital measurements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The same can be said about your TEM environment.\u00a0 There are several key metrics that your organization should build disciplines around to ensure good TEM health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>In Inventory But Not Paid<\/b>:\u00a0 How many inventory items are active that have not billed recently?\u00a0 This metric will provide a health check of your inventory and the telecom asset management life cycle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Paid But Not In Inventory<\/b>: How many telecom assets are you paying for that are not in active your Inventory?\u00a0 These assets could very well be sources of credits or could indicate a gap in your life cycle process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Days to Pay<\/b>: The number of days between the date of receipt of the invoice in the TEM application and the date the invoice is actually \u201cPaid\u201d.\u00a0 This is a key measurement that indicates the amount of processing time.\u00a0 A healthy target is 80% of all invoices should be marked \u201cPaid\u201d within 10 days of receipt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Due vs. Paid<\/b>: is difference between the invoice due date and the date the invoice was \u201cPaid\u201d in the TEM application.\u00a0 This metric allows a company to better manage cash flow.\u00a0 What are your payments terms with each vendor?\u00a0 Maximize your cash flow by taking full advantage of the negotiated payment terms with each telecom service provider.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Receipt to Pay<\/b>:\u00a0 is the date sent to accounting minus (-) the date entered in the TEM application.\u00a0 What are your accounting cut-off dates?\u00a0 How often are checks cut or ACHs processed?\u00a0 Use this metric to measure your efforts to meet these dates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Days to Receive<\/b>:\u00a0 is the difference between the invoice date and the date the invoice was imported into the TEM application. This metric is important to understand as it provides insight to how long it takes your telecom service providers to deliver your invoices to Asentinel.\u00a0 This information can be used in contract negotiations as leverage with your carriers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Disputes Opened vs. Closed<\/b>: is the time from when a Dispute is opened until it is closed.\u00a0 This will measure how long it takes for your telecom service provider to acknowledge, address, resolve and confirm disputes.\u00a0 This information can also be useful during contract negotiations with your telecom service providers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Credits received vs. credits requested<\/b>: is the measurement of the actual credit amount requested versus the credit amount received.\u00a0 This metric will show how effective your organization is in recovering monies tied to billing errors identified in the TEM solution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Cost avoidance<\/b>:\u00a0 is the cost avoided if the billing error had not been uncovered.\u00a0 Most organizations will multiply any recurring credits by 12 to produce the cost avoidance amount.\u00a0 Whatever multiplier you determine to be relevant in your organization should be used consistently across all vendors and service types.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">How healthy is your TEM environment?\u00a0 If you begin to utilize these few key metrics, you can identify areas of success as well as areas that need attention.\u00a0 Over time, you can feel confident that your time, efforts and TEM investment are producing great results.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"margin: 5px;\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.profitrecoverysystems.com\/newsite\/wp-includes\/images\/MikeHobday.png\" width=\"130\" height=\"130\" \/><\/span><b><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0About Mike Hobday<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Mike graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Engineering, and earned an MBA\u00a0 from the University of Dallas. Later he worked on global, regional, corporate and national accounts <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">with MCI and Verizon Business. Prior to joining Asentinel, Mike was a Senior Account <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Manager for Verizon Business. Throughout his 14 years there, he was responsible for <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">growing and managing relationships with numerous Fortune 150 and Fortune 500 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">companies, a responsibility that earned him the 2007 Southeast Sales MVP.
